Musa✦Firawn
The Right Versus The Left
“And Pharaoh said, ‘O eminent ones, I have not known you to have a god other than me. Then ignite for me, O Hāmān, upon the clay and make me a tower that I may look at the God of Moses. And indeed, I think he is among the liars.’”
Al-Qaṣaṣ — 28:38“So go to him and say, ‘Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon whoever follows the guidance.’”
“But no one believed Moses, except some youths among his people, for fear of Pharaoh and his establishment that they would persecute them. And indeed, Pharaoh was haughty within the land, and indeed, he was of the transgressors.”
Yūnus — 10:83“Worthy of not saying about Allah except the truth. I have come to you with clear evidence from your Lord, so send with me the Children of Israel.”
“And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, ‘I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims.’ Now? And you had disobeyed [Him] before and were of the corrupters? So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who come after you a sign. And indeed, many people are heedless of Our signs.”
Yūnus — 10:90–92“Moses said to his people, ‘Seek help through Allah and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah. He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous.’”
“And Pharaoh said, ‘O Hāmān, build for me a tower that I might reach the ways — the ways into the heavens — so that I may look at the deity of Moses; but indeed, I think he is a liar.’ And thus the evil of his deed was made attractive to Pharaoh, and he was averted from the [right] way. And the plan of Pharaoh was not except in ruin.”
Al-Muʾmin — 40:36–37“And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded.”
“Then We sent after them Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his establishment with Our signs, but they behaved arrogantly and were a criminal people. So when the truth came to them from Us, they said, ‘Indeed, this is obvious magic.’ Moses said, ‘Do you say [this] about the truth when it has come to you? Is this magic? But magicians will not succeed.’ They said, ‘Have you come to us to turn us away from that upon which we found our fathers and so that you two may have grandeur in the land? And we are not believers in you.’”
Yūnus — 10:75–78“And Moses said, ‘Our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and his establishment splendor and wealth in the worldly life, our Lord, that they may lead [people] astray from Your way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment.’ [Allah] said, ‘Your supplication has been answered.’ So remain on a right course and follow not the way of those who do not know.”
"And [remember] when your Lord brought forth from the children of Adam -- from their loins -- their descendants and made them testify concerning themselves, [saying to them], 'Am I not your Lord?' They said, 'Yes, we have testified.' [This] -- lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection, 'Indeed, we were unaware of this.'"
"Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer, who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind, from among the jinn and mankind."
"Did I not command you, O children of Adam, that you should not worship Satan? Indeed, he is your clear enemy. And that you worship Me? This is the straight path."
"And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. They are like cattle; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless."
"And whoever turns away from the remembrance of the Most Merciful — We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion. And indeed, the devils avert them from the way while they think that they are rightly guided. Until, when he comes to Us, he says, 'Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance of the two easts — what a terrible companion.'"
"O tranquil soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him]. So enter among My servants. And enter My Paradise."
"Until, when death comes to one of them, he says, 'My Lord, send me back, so that I may do good in that which I left behind.' No! It is only a word he is saying. And behind them is a barrier (Barzakh) until the Day they are resurrected."
"And between them will be a partition, and on [its] elevations are men who recognize all by their mark. And they call out to the companions of Paradise, 'Peace be upon you.' They have not [yet] entered it, but they long [to do so]. And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, 'Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people.' And the companions of the Elevations will call to men [within Hell] whom they recognize by their mark, saying, 'Of no avail to you was your gathering and [the fact] that you were arrogant.'"
"And the companions of the left -- what are the companions of the left? [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water and a shade of black smoke, neither cool nor beneficial. Indeed, they were, before that, indulging in affluence, and they used to persist in the great violation, and they used to say, 'When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?'"
"If you could only see when they are made to stand before the Fire and will say, 'Oh, would that we could be sent back! Then we would not deny the signs of our Lord and we would be among the believers.' But what they concealed before will become apparent to them. And even if they were sent back, they would return to what they were forbidden from. Indeed, they are truly liars."
"Indeed, those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures."
"And when it is said to them, 'Believe as the people have believed,' they say, 'Should we believe as the foolish have believed?' Unquestionably, it is they who are the foolish, but they know not."
"And the companions of the right -- what are the companions of the right? [...] And the foremost [in faith] will be the foremost [in Paradise]. Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] in the Gardens of Pleasure."
